May 16th Manchester Academy tickets now on sale!

Posted on:  May 5, 2009 08:58 by Mark

Morning everyone!

We've got the tickets through for Manchester Academy on the 16th May (2 weeks).

Just like when we played there before it's a huge gig for us and because of your awesome support and turn out last time we've been bumped up to a Saturday slot, which means that the late night and few pints won't go a miss this time!  Again, just like before the more people we bring the better it is for us.

Not talking from a financial perspective but from a proggression perspective; if we keep doing well for MCR Music (the promoters) then we keep getting bumped up the lise to support touring bands, you know the sort: Oasis, Elbow etc etc. So, it would still mean so much to us if you could spare £5 and bring a car full down to see us on the 16th.

There's another local band on too, BlackJak, who are equally awesome and just so you know we're on 3rd out of (we think) 4 bands.

Really hope to see you there!

If you want tickets then please get in touch via Facebook etc or text Mark on 07900 494 244.

Love!

That's right, after a decent set and some stiff competition, GBF came out on top at the first heat of the battle of the bands held in The Snooty fox, Wakefield.

The semi final is to be held on 23rd May so be sure to head down and support us!

Battle of the Bands @ the Snooty Fox! May 2nd 2009...

Posted on:  April 28, 2009 13:38 by Mark

Ok guys, we're entered last minute into the Battle of the Bands at The Snooty Fox in Wakefield.

The results are VERY crowd driven (the louder y ou shout the better we do!) and we'd love to win the first prize of a free album recording with a top Yorkshire studio.

That'd mean more wuality GBF tunes coming your way, for free!!

It'd be awesome if you could come down with your friends and family and really holler for us; we'll be giving out badges as usual too so plenty for you to go at there!

It starts at 7pm and y'all know you're not hitting town that night with it being bank holiday Sunday so spends a fiver on a few drinks with us!

Hope to see you there...

EETP charity gig

Posted on:  April 26, 2009 12:06 by Mark

Further to Matt's post the charity event at Silkstone Lodge went really well.

MissDemeanour opened the night up for everyone and, considering it was their first gig, did a stunning job! Keep an eye out for those girls!

The GBF set went well amidst some dodgy feedback but the new song went down well and everyone enjoyed it.

Cheers to BlackJak for arranging it and pulling off a great set as ever too, I think nearly a grand was raised for English Efforts to End Poverty. Result!
