Green Ball Flyers, what a crazy name. Or dumb, whatever. The name comes from a game we used to play at our old practice room where we had this weird green ball with bobbly bits on it. We'd get the ball and lob it about, trying our best to get it back on the stage without hitting any obstacles. It used to fly about everywhere.

Maybe not. Anyway, we came together in June 2007 after Mark & Nic had been playing together for a few years. Matt jumped on board and we finally got some momentum going, which really kicked in when Deano joined in March 2008, ish. For God knows how long we struggled to find a decent singer, and eventually Mark just ended up doing it. See he just got pissed off with people coming in and ruining the songs they'd written. So, the lineup was complete.
The first gig was at a community centre for a good friend's wedding anniversary and since then, the band have gone on to play at some massive venues such as Barnsley Ice Bar and The Arches.
Jealousy will get you nowhere Bon Jovi, nowhere.
From there things can only get better, we'll get better shoes, better food and one day we might get paid for a gig. But it's like we always say "there's no money in playing music so steal things on the side". It's Dean that says that mainly. He's from Hoyland*. Best off just leaving that conversation well alone.
Any that's how it happened, just like that.
